City Government
The City of Lufkin operates under a council-manager form of government. The City Council is the legislative body that represents the citizens and is responsible for establishing policies, passing ordinances, adopting the budget, and hiring the City Manager.
Mayor & City Council
The City Council consists of the Mayor and six Council members who are elected by the citizens of Lufkin. The Mayor is elected at-large, while Council members are elected from six single-member districts.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
