Firefighter of the Year (tie)
Capt. Travis Zienko and Lt. Levi Cole were awarded Firefighter of the Year for their quick response on Sept. 27, 2022, when a fire broke out at Great Oaks Apartments off of Old Union Road.
Services

Fire Suppression
Our department provides professional firefighting services throughout the City of Lufkin, focusing on rapid response and effective fire suppression techniques.

Emergency Medical Services
The LFD provides emergency medical services for both the City of Lufkin and Angelina County with four ambulances staffed 24/7.

HAZMAT Response
Our HAZMAT team consists of 25 members trained to the technician level, responding to incidents within Lufkin and surrounding areas.

Fire Inspections
Our fire prevention team conducts regular inspections to ensure buildings meet fire codes and safety standards throughout the city.

Rescue Operations
The LFD provides specialized rescue services including vehicle extrication, water rescue, and other emergency rescue operations.

Public Education
Our department offers educational programs and resources to teach fire safety and prevention to residents of all ages.
